Jennifer Rohrer creates depth and personal meaning in her artwork through layering acrylic paint, collaged papers, photographs, maps and natural materials. As she assembles each piece she discerns the shape and direction of the artwork as it relates to the truths in her life. For her, creating work is a spiritual discipline.
Having grown up surrounded by the farmland of Ohio, Rohrer feels a love and connectedness to nature. Much of her work gains inspiration & motifs found by observing organic forms. Her study and travel abroad, as well as her deep spiritual connection, have also had a strong influence on her life and work.
Jennifer Rohrer graduated from Goshen College with a BA in Studio Art and Art Education. She taught art for ten years in Pittsburgh, and is currently teaching private art lessons in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Jennifer has exhibited her work nationally and internationally.
